In the name of God Amen I Edward Strudwick of Eastbourne in the County of Sussex ffarmer being infirme in Body but of sound perfect mind & memory (God be praised therefore)- revoaking all former wills by me made doe hereby make & declare this to be my last will & testament in manner and forme following
And ffirst being hartily sorry for my sinns Past & humbly begging fforgiveness of God for the same I comend my son to Almighty god hopeing to bee saved by & through the merritts Deathe & Passion of Jesus Christ my Only Saviour & redeemer & my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried in Christian buriall in such manner as to my executors in trust therein after named shall seem best
And as to my temporall estate herewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I doe order give and dispose thereof as ffolloweth
Imprimus I give & bequeath unto my sister Mary now wife of Henry Chalcroft of Begshott in the said County of Sussex Yeoman Ffive pounds and to be paid her during her natural life by my executors (free of all charges) out of my personall estate
Item I give & bequeath unto my kinswomen Mary & Sarah daughters of my brother John Strudwick of Chiddingfold in the County of Surrey Yeoman ffifty pounds a peice of lawfull money of Great Britaine to be paid unto them by my executors within one year next after my decease
Item I give & bequeath unto my kinsman William Strudwicke one of the sons of my said brother John one hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Brittaine to be paid unto him within one year next after my decease
Item I give & bequeath unto my kinsman Henry Strudwicke & Richard Strudwicke two other of the sons of my said Brother John Strudwick One hundred pounds a peice of lawfull money of Great Brittaine fifty pounds a peice to be paid unto them by my executors within one year next after my decease and the other fifty pounds a peice I will to be paid unto them within three months next after the decease of my aforesaid sister Mary Chalcroft
And as to the rest residue and remainder of my moneyes goods cattle chattels & personall estate whatsoever ( after my just debts & legacies are paid & my funerall expenses which my executors shall be putt unto in the management of the trust hereby in them reposed shall be fully satisfied) I give and bequeath unto my kinsman Thomas Strudwick another of the sons of my said brother John Strudwick
And lastly I make my said loveing brother John Strudwick and my loveing friend John Wakeford of Chiddingfold aforesaid executors in trust of this my last will & testament & for their trouble I give them both thirty shillings apeice and all costs and charges
